This is a daybook of the firm of Cloud and Gaines, Druggists, of Lexington, Kentucky, dating from 1817 to 1818. The volume contains entries noting the sale of such items and drugs as epsom salts, opium, calomel, laudanum, castor oil, and pillboxes. Included are a few entries for sales to Dr. Daniel Drake, a prominent pioneer and physician, who was then teaching medicine at Transylvania University.
